Sir Poops and Hair Ball: The Pooper That Keeps On Giving

Hey, nice people!

I know the post is late today. Sir Poops kept me up all night. He kept pooping all night. He wouldn't stop.  I even got trapped between 2 piles. So I cried and cried until Mummsy woke up and saved me.

Right now, Mummsy is following my brother around the living room with a bucket. He's having a colitis attack again. He doesn't look so good. Mummsy feels he's not going to be with us much longer anyway.

It's hard for him to breathe. And he can barely walk.

Mummsy is doing everything she can to make him comfy. But he doesn't look like it.

Please pray for my stupid brother. I really do like him. I just pretend that I don't.

Lots of licks and belly rubs!

  1. I'm sorry! That sucks. Shame furry friends don't live as along as we do.

    1. Right now, pepto, pedialite, and a homeopathic tincture has kept him from vomiting and the poo for an hour now. But his breathing is heavy.

  2. This is heartbreaking. The fact our wonderful friends who live with us and love us no matter what we are and do, die before we do.
I always keep you and your family in my heart but even more so today.
    Much love to you all

    cheers, parsnip

    1. Parsnip:

It's so hard to watch them fail. It really is. But as long as he still wants me to hold him, I will until he can no longer handle it.

There is nothing they can do for his breathing. They say small breeds can get partially collapsed tracheas. But he's having another colitis attack. He's already terribly skinny even though he loves to eat.

  3. Shelly, I'm so sorry about Sir Poops. It is so hard when all you can do is hold them.

    You are in my prayers.

    1. It's been hard the last few weeks. He seems real sick and then perks up. No matter what he eats, he's frail.

  4. Oh Shelly - no!
I'm sorry to hear this... and I didn't realize that SPAL is already 13 years old...

    1. Yeah. He's a senior. He's changed so much from last year. He's become so frail. But as long as he wants me to hold him and as long as he wants to eat...of course today has been a poop fest. Poor littl Hair Ball has been very upset. He's been whining off and on all day whenever his brother would vomit. He was the one to wake us last night. He understood that Sir Poops was horribly sick.

  5. Aww. I'm so sorry.

Our dog has been losing weight and declining lately, too. I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye. :(

  6. I hate to hear this, Shelly. I've said goodbye to far too many critter friends over the years, and it never gets easier.

  10. Poor little Fur-Peep. It's so hard to know when we can't ease their suffering anymore because you surely are trying. Holding him right now is the best thing - for him and you. And Hair Ball knows something isn't right with his brother. We do love our fur babies and hate to see them fail.

  14. So very sorry to hear Sir Poops isn't feeling very well! We're feeling really sad for him, and hoping he'll be feeling much better very soon. And for Hair Ball's sake, too! You all must be having a hard time lately, it's a strain.

Kisses and wishes for better days (and nights!)

  16. Hair Ball will give an update on Sir Poop's progress on Thursday, all. Thank you for the well wishes. I've been feeding him with a dropper as of late. Tomorrow, we'll graduate from rice water to adding in baby chicken food and see how he tolerates it.

  18. Poor little guy. ((HUGS)) I hope he feels better soon. Could you buy doggie diapers? Maybe? I know they have them for females in heat...

    1. He has been wearing diapers. We double them up, but it still doesn't keep the poo from leaking out.
