Sweetman and me were up by four am to catch a cab to the Heathrow airport. We had a flight to make. Everything went smooth. No problems. We even had time to partake in an English Breakfast. Baked beans. Sautéed mushrooms. Baked tomatoes. Hash browns. Scrambled eggs and sausage links. Eh….it was okay, I guess. People farted a lot on the flight to Tel Aviv. A good five hours worth.
“Did you toot?” Sweetman nudged me in the arm.
“No.” I pointed to the seat in front of me. English breakfast gas wafted from the seat ahead of me into my nose.
Sweetman and me giggled.
“That’s what happens when you serve baked beans and spicy sausage for breakfast,” I said. “People are going to fart. We may need to use our oxygen masks for this flight. Make sure you pay attention to the flight attendants on how to use one.”
Yup. People were gassy throughout this trip. Including, Sweetman. I’m surprised no emergency landing happened over it or that he wasn’t detained from the rest of the passengers. Let me tell you, it was deadly. But we landed safely in Tel Aviv.
We stayed at the Crowne Holiday Inn the first couple nights. It sits on the Mediterranean shore along with other resorts and hotels. We had a great view of the parking lot. It was free. Sweetman used points from one of his credit cards. But you get what you pay for. Right?
The bed. Not as nice as the one in Grovenor’s but the pillows were fluffy and soft.
Sweetman could hardly wait to go here. He’d been craving a falafel from this place. It’s a small café on the corner of Ben Yhuden and Mapu.
This is what I watched while waiting for Sweetman to order. People strolling up and down the city sidewalks.
Dinner’s served.
And look who invited themselves to dinner. Just to let you know, stray kitties roam the streets of Tel Aviv and frequent restaurants. They’re not shooed away like in America but are hand fed by patrons and the owners of the eateries. Sweetman and I gladly shared our dinner with this beautiful creature. We also shared it with a little black dog that refused to have its picture taken.
This is a happy Sweetman. But let me tell you, it was a gas-filled night for the both of us. Falafel, if you didn’t know, is made from chick peas,a/k/a, garbonzo beans.
That’s all for now folks! Got to get ready for a day of hair loppings. More tomorrow.
Have a great day blogging, reading, and writing!

Wow how much fun! and now you got this song in my head...Beans Bean the magical fruit...the more you eat...the more you toot...the more you toot, the better you feel.........So eats some beans for every meal....LOL! Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
ReplyDeleteHuh, so that's what a falafel looks like. And how cool that kitties roam and are handfed...totally interesting. I never did understand why the English insist on eating beans for breakfast. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a gassing competition .
ReplyDeleteRemember what doesn't pay rent must be let out ! LOL !
@Siv: I know that song. I'll have more tomorrow on my trip like Secret Agent pigeons.
ReplyDelete@Laila: There are kitties everywhere in Tel Aviv.
@Mish: I like that one. Never heard it before.
Ugh, I hated English breakfasts! Greasy stuff--not to mention the other after effects! Sure happy to see that Sweetman is smiling! Good job Shelly! :)
ReplyDeleteYum, that falafel looks amazing! LOL about the gassy trip though. Glad you survived! Hope you're having fun!
ReplyDeleteEve: Yeah. English breakfasts aren't so good. Bleh...bleh...bleh.
ReplyDelete@Krispy: Falafel is wonderful.
I love the pictures! Gosh, I want to take a trip too!
ReplyDelete@Kate: Thank you. I love to travel and see other places.
ReplyDeleteThat's what you get for eating any kind of bean.
ReplyDeleteTerrific pictures, Shelly!
Sir Wills: Thank you and smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great adventure! Love the pic of the food. I love the idea of feeding stray animals.
