I slept in as late as I could. Sweetman had an appointment for a CT scan of his jaw. Talk about exploring strange and new worlds and going to where no other man has explored. ***giggles***
Yup. While we were there, Sweetman got his teeth fixed. Did you know it’s half the cost of what it is over here in the states?
Anyway, we did other things that day, too. We roamed the streets of Tel Aviv the rest of the day.
Taxis in Tel Aviv are incredibly filthy on the outside. In fact, everyone’s car in Israel is dirty.
About every fifth store in Tel Aviv is a juice bar. You can have your choice of fresh carrot, orange juice, apple, pineapple, or pomegranate. The cost: five shekels.
A street somewhere in Tel Aviv.
A big-ass transportation bus. It looks like two buses have been connected together. They’re everywhere along with taxis, scooters, and bicycles.
An arts and crafts flea market.
Allenby has a special souvenir shop we like to go to. Don’t ask me what the name of it is. I haven’t a clue. I just know how to get there.
This is the address on Allenby.
Sweetman is busy picking out presents for family and friends back home. And well, I’m taking pictures wondering when the torture of this adventure will end. I’m so glad I had something fun to do.
One of the storefront windows to this shop.
This is Mark. Meticulous Mark, in fact. He’s thorough when he brings out his mezuzah collection. He also hand wraps each item you purchase. When in Tel Aviv, you must go visit him. He plays great music in his store, too.
Later that day, we met out friend, Ilan. He’s an artist.
We met him here. It’s an authentic Italian restaurant on Ben Yhuden. The food is fabulous. It’s another one of our favorite eateries in Tel Aviv.
I had a Greek Salad and a bowl of Minestrone. The Feta cheese silked against my tongue. It’s not hard or salty like it is here in the states. Also, veggies filled the Minestrone broth. Heaven for your taste buds.
After, we went here (sorry guys can’t read Hebrew but it’s a coffee café). Tel Aviv is plenteous in these. Where ever you turn, you’ll see one. They’re always busy, too, and they serve the better coffee in the world.
I had a cappuccino.
Sweetman had an icy, cold sweet coffee.
We had a lovely time with our friend. It’s possible he’ll do the cover to my novel. It was part of our discussion amongst other topics like him being part of a protest against one of the biggest dairy companies in Israel. This particular company raises the price on their products every year. Imagine paying eight dollars for a gallon of milk. The protest was happening while we were there. Sorry guys, I didn’t get any pictures of it.
That’s all for now folks!
Tomorrow’s blog Spy Pigeons and The Shady Dentist’s Office.
Happy blogging, reading, and writing!
Shelly
Thanks for sharing more of your remarkable trip.
ReplyDeleteYour coffee looked wonderful!
That cappuccino looks like it has Pac-Man on top.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, Shelly!
@ Norma and Eve: The coffee over there is delish. It's smooth and sweet not chemical tasting or bitter.
ReplyDeleteNorma, I hope some of the street names and small attractions you can use in your novel. More travel tales to come. I've got great shots of Galilee and the Kibutz we stayed at. Also, have pics of Safad, a village built into the top of a moutain, got Golon Heights, The Negev, the Judean desert and Jerusalem for you.
Sweetman should try to find a dentist here in the North American continent. LOL
ReplyDeleteLooks like you two had a wonderful time.
What an awesome trip! Thanks for walking us through it.
ReplyDeleteVery good pictures, girl. Trying to catch up on this.
ReplyDeleteOh, and those buses, they have them in Chicago--called accordian buses.
Glad you had a good time and that you're back safe and sound.
