Challenge: Fifteen Minutes a Day to Blog for Fifteen Days Straight

Recently, I read an article from an on-line magazine, The Infinite Writer. Penny Sansevieri wrote an article on blogging(forgot to write down the title..oops). One of her suggestions was to blog fifteen minutes a day. In fact, your posts don’t have to be any longer than fifty words.

Fifty times fifteen minutes a day. Sounds like a good idea. Wonder if I could do it? Wonder if any of you could do it?  Blog fifteen minutes a day. Fifty words only…about anything. Anyone up for the challenge?

Happy blog-writing!!

Shelly

  1. Hi Shelly, glad you're feeling better. I write my blog every few days, but then I also write on Plinky.com and Hubpages. I just wish I could do it in fifteen minutes!

  2. Hey Eve:

Well, I'm going to try it. I'm trying to find a way to block my time more efficiently anyway. The Doc said "slow down". I'm gonna try.

  3. I'll give it a try. The kids are home for the rest of the week to annoy me so I should be able to get some good material.

  4. I love the concept but would have to change some of my blogging habits to do this. My post are often far too long, and I'm addicted to adding photos. Any suggestions for trimming down?

I know pictures take time to find and unload. I still need to figure out my camera. I'd love to introduce everyone to my muses, Honey Bear and Baby. And my editor, No-No. And post a pic of myself. Time.

I love reading about your kids. I could probably come up with a couple good kid stories from the past. Afterall, I have five daughters. Mostly grown now. One lives at home, No-No. My youngest lives with her dad since I'm not cool. But that's okay.

  7. The writing for fifteen minutes is one of those ideas that sounds sound. Then I'll try it and end up wasting fifteen minutes of precious writing time doing a "writing exercise" rather than writing!

I think this is an important symbol for me- the lesson of doing rather than preparing to do. But hey, that's just me and some New Year's style gibberish. If the fifteen minutes works for you, do it.

All we can do is try. Blogging can take up so much time and of course, reading and commenting on others.

  9. Some days the blog writing might only take fifteen minutes, but adding on looking for images... that really adds up!
