SPAL:Today we’re doing What’s Your Nosh. We nursed Mummsy back to health. She’s doing much better now. So we’re back to share what new and Indie authors are writing.
HB: Yeah. For nosh. Eats. Foodies. Treats. Just leave your donations in the mugs. We really appreciate this, including my pansy brother. Don’t let his dignified self fool you.
SPAL: ***elbows HB*** We’re here to help our fellow authors out there.
HB: No. It’s a guise for good eats. And you know it.
SPAL: Maybe it is for you, stupid. But not for me. Anyway, today we have author Gwen Gardner coming. I think I see her now.
HB: I wonder what she’s bringing us to eat. See anything in her hands?
SPAL: Just behave.
HB: Can I hug her leg?
SPAL: ***steps in front of him*** Absolutely not! ***he looks out at the blogsphere*** Everyone please welcome Gwen Gardner.
HB: ***jumps up and down*** Hey, nice lady! Hey! What you got for us today…
SPAL: Apologies. He means what do you like to nosh on when writing? Tell us why.
GG: Generally, I don’t eat while I’m writing. BUT! (and this is why I don’t usually eat while writing) I recently had a huge box of hot tamales and ate so many, well, you know what happens when you eat too much sugar, right? I love the sweet with the hot combination – it’s sooo addicting.
HB: That would make some hot poops.
SPAL: ***he shoos at HB*** Shh!
HB: I don’t think we should eat those. It would make our tushies burn. Mummsy would get upset if we scooted out butts on the carpet.
SPAL: ***looks at HB*** This is not the time to discuss this. ***he turns and looks at Gwen Gardner*** Nice lady, is it crunchy or soft?
GG: It’s chewy/gummy/sticky.
HB: Oooo. That would get stuck in your butt. Hot and sticky. That would really burn then.
SPAL: ***elbows him*** So nice lady, is it salty or sweet?
GG: Definitely sweet. And cinnamon-y.
HB: Sweet? Sugar? I want some.
SPAL: ***he looks over at HB*** Just be quiet. ***he looks back at Gwen Gardner*** Do these hot tamales get your creative juices flowing?
GG: Since I write YA, it does sort of make me feel like a teenager again. Without the pimples, I mean. So yeah, it gets me in the zone.
HB: I want to go to the zone. The food zone.
SPAL:***rolls his eyes*** Do you have any published books to share, nice lady? What are they? Where can we find them?
GG: My first book, GIVIN’ UP THE GHOST, a YA paranormal cozy mystery, will be self-published on Amazon on October 8th – the first day of my blog tour with my awesome writing buddy/critique partner Angela Brown. We both write YA paranormal so we teamed up under the Partners in ParanormYA banner and are releasing our books and touring Blogtown together. When I’m not touring, I’ll be hanging out at my blog, Gwen Gardner, YA Author.
SPAL: This fun tour starts next Monday. We’re going to help, too.
HB: Yeah. But don’t bring hot tamales. Bring some sugar to the event. That won’t make our butts burn and will keep us from scooting them on Mummsy’s carpet.
SPAL: Also, E.J. Wesley is having his Bury the Hatchet Blogfest. This event ends October 19th. So go to The Open Vein to sign up up for some really cool treats like a Nook.
Lots of licks,
