Sir Poops and Hair Ball Host The Secondhand Shoes Cover Reveal and Something Borrowed Giveaway

IMG_0485

Today, we’re doing another cover reveal for Mummy’s book, Secondhand Shoes. Mummsy says we’re giving away three books from the Twilight Series and eight books from the House of Night Series. They’ve already been read. It goes with the something borrowed theme. We’ve got pictures below so you can see what you’ll win. They’re both YA/Crossovers about vampires of a different kind.

3 books from the Twilight Series

8 books from the House of Night Series

Hair Ball is willing to throw his most prized possession in, too. The ball.

In order for your name to be put in the drawing you must promise to Tweet, Facebook, and Google +1 this and leave a comment in the box that you did so along with your email, which series you would like, and what you borrowed on your wedding day to wear down the aisle. And I hope they weren’t secondhand bridal shoes that didn’t fit like Mummsy’s MC, Lila.

There will be no rafflecoptors or anything like that. Mummsy is pretty much a self-admitted-techno-moron.

Next Friday, October 19th, she will reveal the two winners for the series over at Secondhand Shoes, A Novel

So here is Mummsy’s purdy book cover made by Collin Beishir at Beishir Media.

The shoes didn’t fit. It was an omen. Secondhand_Shoes[1]

Eighteen year old psychic-medium-germ-a-phobe Lila should have listened to ghostly Gram’s advice the morning of her wedding, “Take off that dress and those shoes. And run.”

En route to the honeymoon, she decides to listen after too many disagreements with her groom. It doesn’t pay to go along to make everyone happy.

Still in her wedding dress and shoes, she escapes out a diner’s bathroom window into the Florida woods despite her fear of snakes and germs with her ghostly Gram’s direction.

So she begins a journey of finding her inner strength that puts her on a deadly run from her psychotic groom and his deranged friends.

Will she ever get past her fear of germs and snakes? Will she survive her honeymoon?

Who’s the Hot Man for Hot Men of Blogs This Month

HOT MEN OF BLOGS

Today is the day I name the hottie for this month. But first, I must build to the pivotal moment.

In my last blog, I know I wrote this particular hottie has an altar ego. Edward Cullen. Hmmm….Who could it be?

Bella and ed snow

Well, I think he likes snow or hates it. I’ve never quite understood the banter between him and other blogger buddies about paying a cuss jar when it comes to the white stuff.

edward snow

My suggestion: MOVE TO FLORIDA WHERE SUN AND BLUE SKIES CAP THE TREES! You never have to worry about it or loosing your coins. I don’t anyway. But then again, his secret might get out. He’d sparkle in the sunlight. Right?

He refers to himself as a ROGUE. Does he mean ROGUE VAMPIRE? Hmmm…. I can’t picture that. He’s too much of a gentleman despite what he says even if he pretends to be a sparkle-a-phobe.

He still sparkles to me. ***pretty sparkles*** I love a man who can make his written words sparkle. ***sparkly words make me tingle***

sparkle vampire

This hottie has a way with political wit, satire, and reviews that would make any smile sparkle. Go visit Speak of the Devil. He’s working on a novel, Heaven and Hell, too, where he shares a snippet here and there.

He’s also got a writing partner (I believe they’re the perfect match). They make each other sparkle. Go visit Basking in the Afterglow. It’s sure to make any female sparkle with delight.

He’s also one of the founding members of Writers of Mass Distraction. Just click on the pretty blue words and check us out. Okay?

So who is this months Hot Man of Blogs? William Kendall

PSST! I hope he still likes me after this post. I don’t think he likes Edward all that much.

Hot Men Of Blogs Coming Soon

HOT MEN OF BLOGS

This will be a monthly post spotlighting the men who’s words make my heart pitter-patter, my stomach fill up with butterflies, and give me a tingly feeling. The last day of every month I’ll name a Hot Man.

If you know any, leave their linky in the comment box.

On November 30, 2011, I’ll share the first Hot Man. His alter-ego is the Sparkly dude above. That’s the only clue I’ll give.

Stay tuned. Be there or be square.

That’s all for now folks!

See you all later in the ink,

Shelly

Blonde, Blue-Eyed American-Laotian Babies and Vampire Divorce

This morning I found it difficult to pull myself out of bed. It’s raining outside and work kicked my arse last night (from one to nine pm), I did twenty-six heads of hair.

When I got home from work, No-No went into a rant over one of her body parts not feeling well. I think it was about a muscle in her leg, wasn’t really listening. For the past ten days she’s been on a real hypochondriac roll. Next week we’ll be burying her at the rate she’s going. Guess I’ve lost my editor-in-chief and my techi-chic. Oh, grief! Hope I’m using proper grammar and sentence structure.

But that’s not the point of this blog. What was the point? Oh, yeah….

Today I’ll defend why I’m a Twi-freak ( read the books in one month and saw all the movies, thus far). I’ll try to sum it all up in one sentence but probably won’t.

The story took me back to my teen age years when I first fell in love. Phanmaly  Khoumphanpakdy. Yup. That’s his name. Try to pronounce that baby. I used to practice it. Thought I’d become Mrs. Khoumphanphakdy. Imagined what our babies would look like. Blonde, slanted blue-eyed American-Laotian babies with yellow skin. Kind of freaky when you think about it.

Anyway, he preferred to be called Lee. And Lee was perfect in everyway. No body, face, or soul imperfections like Edward. He could do no wrong in my eyes. He made my heart sing and my body….well, use your imagination here. I mean, if you’ve seen the Twilight movies, you’d understand what I mean. Bella looks ravenous when she looks at Edward and more so when they’re about to kiss. I’m surprised that they didn’t gobble each other up. And, I mean literally devour each other from head to toe when they finally kissed ( fanning myself right now ).

There were times I wanted to gobble up Lee and he probably me. But that didn’t happen. My life’s not a fantasy and there isn’t always a happy ending. We broke up eight months later. Found out he wasn’t so perfect, after all. That sucked. Good thing we didn’t get married and have children together. Oh-oh!

I'm thinking what if Bella decides Edward’s not perfect. Then what? Oh, no! She’s got a baby, you know. Resnesme ( something like that ). Anyway, when she finds out Edward’s not perfect what is she going to do? She gave up her humanity to be a vampire forever. She’s bonded to him for eternity unless… she chops off his head and burns his body. Oh my! That’s a problem.

Glad I’m not Bella or Edward for that matter. Vampire divorce is worse than human divorce. One would have to die in order for the other to survive in peace---think a lot of humans feel the same way---it would be cheaper in the long run, though. Glad my kids are grown---won’t have to watch my back, I think.

So what do you guys think about vampire divorce?

Just thinking that’s all ( palms up in air and shrugs).

Happy blogging, reading, and writing!

Shelly

P.S. I know you’re going to read this Sweetman.  Just wanted you to know I love you with all my heart. You make me hot and I just want to pinch your dimpled-cheekies. And, I’ll never want to chop off your head and burn your body. Promise.
