Eight Hundred Words

It's been difficult writing around my hectic schedule. For now I have to keep working at my day job which sometimes is my night job. The biggest problem I face besides writer's block is a good chunk of time to write.

I've spoken to other fellow writers and have searched various websites for advice.

The best advice thus far, write eight-hundred words a day. Committing to eight-hundred words is not overwhelming and sometimes I write two-thousand. It's like a burden's been lifted from my shoulders. Easy-peasy as Rachel Rae would say.

Another piece of advice I've found helpful is to make an appointment with yourself everyday. In my case it's not the same time due to my work schedule.

In that time frame, I make sure that I've written my eight-hundred words. Sometimes it takes me a half-hour. Sometimes it takes me two hours.

On my days off, I make sure I write eight-hundred words after I've taken my daughter to school and another eight-hundred words after dinner.

So, this is my advise: schedule in your writing time everyday and write eight-hundred words or possibly more.

Happy writing!:)
