Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG: Surviving the Mummsy Pandemic

I

Hey, nice people. It's me Hair Ball. I think Mummsy has lost her mind. She's been going nuts trying on special suits and funny looking masks-and not the Halloween kind.

Right now, she's pretty upset that there are no more special suits for me and my brother on Amazon. So she's fitting me into this black contraption just in case. I. HATE. IT!

Ever since Ebola touched land in the United States she's been stockpiling things, too.

She says she can't imagine her life without the following, if things go to a full blown pandemic:

Pens and pencils
Tablets
Books
Chocolate
Popcorn
Corn Chips
Tea bags
Water
Batteries
Candles
Vitamin C
Post-It Notes
Fur-peep treats and food
Food for her and Daddy-o

And I can't forget Sir Poops's diapers. It wouldn't be a good thing without them. I personally wouldn't want to be stuck in the house with poo piles. He's not known as Sir Poops for nothing. His name rings true, especially now that he's sick and old.

So I hope everyone is prepared for whatever could happen. I think all of our writer friends would go crazy without writerly things. I know Mummsy would.

This post was written on behalf of Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Group, with intentions to help and encourage. Not to scare anyone. Just saying.

Lots of licks and belly rubs,
Hair Ball and Sir Poops

  1. Sounds like you are stockpiled and ready. For Ebola or a hurricane.

  2. Dogs in diapers. Wow. Of course, I have a 17 year old feline who has, well, you know, outside the box a time or two. She might look sporty in Pampers, who knows?

The Ebola thing is frightening. What if they, like, cancelled schools and I had my kids home every freaking day! But seriously, I hope things don't get as bad in Africa as they are predicting.

    1. How would you get any writing done with rug rats. Oh my...I would hide. Mummsy brings over the Glowstick to our house sometimes. He's coming tomorrow. I do love him. But sometimes....

As for Ebola, I think everything will be fine. Mummsy's a bit neurotic though.

  3. Tell Mummsy there's nothing to worry about with Ebola. It's not that contagious, and she's not dealing with anyone who's had any contact with a patient.

    1. I have but Daddy-o encourages her. Me and Sir Poops aren't worried as long as we have treats and TV it's all good.

  4. Not such a bad idea to be prepared, just in case. And that garbage bag... I'll sympathize, but not without laughter.

    1. Mummsy hasn't been eating as much as she used to. Too much makes her tummy burn.

    1. Yes. That, too. A couple years back we couldn't go anywhere for three days. We had a bad tropical storm.

  9. I am mother to Lady Poops the Cat--I haven't resorted to a diaper yet but that's a good idea! Thanks for the inspiration?

  10. Hopefully it won't come to that because I don't know how I could live without Post-It Notes ;)

    1. I think it's horrible. Don't encourage my Mummsy.

  13. I think you need to add a few more lines for chocolate, such as chocolate chip cookies, chocolate milk syrup (maybe some milk too), a wholesale pack of Oreo's, some Kit Kat and boxes of hot cocoa. Other than that, I think you're good. :-D

  14. It's always good to be prepared and that little hazmat suit looks cute on you.Hope that's some consolation, anyway. Looks better than the diaper on Poopsie. Should I shut up now?

    1. I'd rather have the diaper. But I wouldn't like poo on my butt.

    1. Mummsy would go crazy and probably nail-scratch her stories on out walls. Then Daddy-o would totally freak out. That would not be good at all.

  16. Hairball even if you hate it you look adorable in that black contraption! And I'm glad Sir Poops is hanging in there still, you are a sweetie to help with his diapers. His diaper is so cute!
Hugs to both of you and to Mummsy.
