Spammer-Scammers and Blog Thieves

“Your site is very nice and has good content. I am impressed with your site as it is helping people in taking their financial decision. So, I would like to send an article for a guest post in your site.”

The above was from a MS PPI. It was left on my Secondhand Shoes Novel blog. I clicked on this person’s name and was directly taken to PPI Claims. It’s some kind of service to get people money back. And my post last week had nothing to do with anyone making financial decisions. Clearly, this person is foreign, has no grammatical skills, and doesn’t understand English. A spammer-scammer.

Right before that comment, I also had a really perverted one. So much so, its not copy and pastable for our eyes to see. Anyway, I clicked on their name which took me to some Aisian porn site that was really a computer virus. WTF! All I can say is, “STAY AWAY FROM MY BABY BLOGS, YOU MORONS!”

Also, my friend, Norma Beishir, had a couple blogs on Blogspot that she deserted to go to Wordpress. Well, her unused blogs here have been hi-jacked by a blogsquatter named Desi Judmaiti or Dedi something or other. When I clicked on her name to read her profile, the page showed she owned a significant amount of other blogs. And the content on these blogs are always on insurance or finances. They also have a tendency to pop up in my reader one right after the other.

Norma posted a blog about it at Bieshir Books. She’s become rather knowledgeable about what to do and hopefully stop these morons. You all should go visit her blog.

So bloggers beware. We’ve got a blog thief on our hands.

Hugs and chocolate to all,

Shelly

  2. I occasionally get those weird, grammatically incorrect comments that turn out to be sales pitches. I just delete them. It might sound defeatist but I think that it's too huge a problem for us to make any more difference than that.

Thank you for coming by. What happened to Norma was terrible. They've stolen her domain name. And yes, the cyber-monster is huge.

  3. It's good practice to create a separate logon for yourself that doesn't have administrator privileges for virus prevention. Just use the admin logon when you're installing something. Not sure of the process if you use a Mac.

  5. Shelly- I know several other bloggers who are being SPAM bombed. I recently had to take away the anonymous comments due to overwhelming Spam. :/ I have also read that several are also being blog stalked. :( That is sad that someone's blog has been hijacked. Has that person contacted Google? If not, I hope she at least reports it to them. It is sad hearing that your Second Hand Shoes blog was a target.

    1. Google has been contacted. Thus far, its proved to be fruitless.

  6. They are absolute scum. Homo sapiens spammeritis annoyingus. I have to deal with them every once in awhile as a mod at another site. Banning them is a pleasure. Of course, they're like a hydra monster. Take out one of them, three more grow up in their place.

  7. Really blog thieves and spammers are scum of the earth! So far I haven't had any racy or strange comments yet, and I hope I never do. Shelly, you and Norma got me to google myself, and thankfully all looks in order, but I have found a couple of strange things. I did have people reprint my poems (fine with me as long as I get credit) and post them; however, one guy stated I was Sudanese? And then my name is linked with another writer (who does mostly plays), but she is half Japanese and half American, and so now I got listed as Asian? When did I change race and nationality? Must have been while I was sleeping! Sometimes weird things and people lurk in the internet world. I hope we find a way to put a stop to these annoying blog thieves! Take care, Shelly!

    1. People are ignorant! Something I've learned since I've been with my Jewish Sweetman. The questions I get are unreal.

  9. I get spammer comments on my blog all the time and just delete them. They should be renamed scummy spammer scammers. Shameful. Thanks for the awareness. I will be more vigilant about this.

    1. I feel that all of us need to beware. I've been robbed of my purses and personal belongings before, so I understand the violation.
