Stuff

Today, I feel at a lost without MY computer. It's still disease ridden. The one I'm on now is my old Dell and has XP innards. It can't read my zip drive so I can't work on my edits and rewrites to Secondhand Shoes. It's driving me crazy. At least, I can handwrite Contessa and Arthur. I've filled up three-fourths of a tablet with their story. Ho-hum!

I wanted to thank everyone for their advice as what to download to correct it. But my new computer is a small one in size and has no disk drive. Sweetman is a total Techno-tard (Eve no.: 2 uses that word...good word)and I'm not far behind him. So we wait for the computer guy to call us back. He must've had a wild weekend. Haven't even heard a boo from him. Hopefully, he's not hung over in some strange country.

Anyway, I wanted you to know that this month I'll be posting two book reviews and about my trip to NYC with Sweetman. Sir Poops-A-Lot will be giving a blow-by-blow report on No-No and the Sausage-it's pretty juicy. Just wanted you guys to know the plan. So...

I need to finish giving out the Versatile Blog Award and share one more secret.

With this award, there are strings attached-wished someone would cut them darn things off. But here they are anyway:

1. Thank the one who gave it you, directing them to their blog.
2. Pass it onto fifteen other bloggers.
3. Tell seven secrets about yourself.

The winners are:

http://googlemei.blogspot.com/
http://composingcat.blogspot.com/
http://ellaedge.blogspot.com/
http://cyndimartin.blogspot.com/

The last secret...NOPE. I'm not pregnant. NOPE. I'm not an alien. NOPE. Not a vampire or zombie either. Once upon a time, I went to college to become a lawyer.

That's all for now folks!

Have great day blogging, reading, and writing!

Shelly

  1. Sorry to hear about your computer problems. I had the same problem on my desktop. I had to wipe it completely to get rid of it. Not a pretty site.

  2. Nope. It's not. So your chapters will be late getting to you. Sorry, Jen.

  4. Well, my old computer died and I just found out that I can't open my wip (25 chapters) on either my new desktop or laptop so I have to copy and paste it from emails! Have to reformat the whole thing. At least I still have it. Always email stuff to yourself! Hopefully your computer issues get fixed soon. Looking forward to the NYC post. Hey, what was that chocolate bar place you suggested to me on FB?

  5. @ Eve: What information?

@Christina: Max Brenner's. Everything chocolate. You can even dip chicken and veggies into it. Really.

  6. Wow, you must have gotten some virus if you couldn't find something online to get rid of it. My netbook doesn't have a disk drive, but hubby (who is a techno-tard (and I mean that in a good way...he really is good with the computer...and he's self-taught) and he just found something online to download for me. I hope you can get it all fixed up. I want more Contessa and Arthur...LOL

  8. I started saving my WIP onto a thumb drive. So no matter what computer I used, I could work on it. Good luck!

  9. Just that I didn't know you had ANY secrets...remember your secrets are safe with me?
I think you would have made a fabulous attorney...imagine saying to the judge, "throw the book at him!" Doesn't work with e-books...unless that's what you did to your computer?

  10. Hey, Beth: We're still working on getting a hold of our computer Dude. Contessa and Arthur Novella coming sometime this year. I'm sure.

    Nikki: What's good thumb drive?

Lucy: Thank you for the luck. I need all I can get right now.

DR Eve: I know all my stuff is safe with you.

  13. Must be in the air. I've spent most of the morning cleaning away on my teenage son's computer with a nasty little Fake Virus Cleaner he somehow downloaded. This is why I advocate they each have their own computer and not touch mine!

Sorry about the tough luck but I'm going to borrow the "techno-tard" term for future reference. I laughed out loud with that one. Still getting strange looks in the office. Oh well nothing new.

Thanks for the Blog award. I feel so special (*grins cheesy grin)

  21. Congrats on the award! I'm dying to know... Did you become a lawyer? Or did you stop?

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Melissa: I know to recieve an award is time consuming. No problem. And,tonight our computer guy is coming to fix the baby computer.

@Misha: Thanks for the congrats. And, no I did not become a full-fledged attorney. En route to that path, I ended up with mono for almost two years that causes auto-immune responses in my body. I was pretty sick for a good three years after and was told I could either go to school or work. I've never been released to go back and finish. In fact, from December to about now I've been treated for Adrenal fatigue.
