Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG: Slacker Central

Good morning, nice people! Or afternoon?

Today, I want to talk about my Mummsy and brother, Sir Poops. They're a couple of slackers.

I'll start with my brother.

As you can see, this is all he does. And if he isn't lounging around, he's whining for Mummsy or Daddy-o to hold him. And when he's not whining to be held, he's pooping on our floors. He's become such a slacker in his old age. I mean, he takes medicine. Shouldn't he be better by now?

Then there's Mummsy.

Can you believe she's still in her jammie's? She stayed in bed until 9:30 this morning. She had to work an 8 day work week. She hasn't written anything since Sunday. She's acting like a zombie. Thank God, she doesn't want to eat my brains. But I wish she'd get up and play with me.

Not to mention, she feels stuck with Killer Stilettos. It's not going where she wants it. So I told her to work on something else. And that's what she's doing. But right this moment she's being a slacker sipping on tea and staring at Fox News. Maybe that'll get her off her bum. The news is not known to be good around here.

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG: When the Zombie Apocolypse Hits

Hello, nice people!

It's me Hair Ball today. Sir Poops is sound asleep snoring. Mummsy  has a bad case of the flu - something she very rarely gets. And Daddy-O, thank God went to work. He's been ranting about the data Mummsy used to do all her writerly stuff with.

I think she needs to get her own phone and plan and pay for it herself. That's my opinion anyway. What do I know? I'm just a fur-peep.

Anyway, I noticed something in Mummsy's email about something called Grammarly. They wanted her to blog about it. But she's lost it already and can't find her file on it (she seems to do this a lot lately). So I'm going to post about it instead.

After checking out their site, I would say this program would be great to have in case of a Zombie-Ebola-Apocalypse hits us. It's not like most writers want to meander beyond their stories and computers anyway. But just in case, you may want to pay for Grammarly's services.

I don't know how anyone could possibly make it through the Zombie-Ebola Zones so they could get to their live critique group (I know. I watch The Walking Dead with Mummsy). I don't think Post-It Notes and pens will protect any of you.

Their services offer a check on your grammar, word choice and plagiarism. YOU CAN FIND GRAMMARLY HERE.

Has anyone ever used this service?

Today's post was brought to you by Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Group. It's for the soul purpose of scratching each other's bellies and sharing treats. And sometimes a little bit of butt-huffing.

Lots of licks and belly rubs,
Hair Ball

Sir Poops and Hairball: The Insecure Writer's Group

Hello, nice people!

I know I'm late posting for this group. But Mummsy has been doing all kinds of things. Research for one.

Over at her Secondhand Shoes, A Novel , she been writing about Conspiracy theories. She started with television. She's also teaching herself how to video blog. And Samah Ronit should be out in a couple of months and she's decided to put Killer Stilettos on the back burner again. She's decided to finish the extension to her short story, Time on Her Side.

Mummsy just wishes she had more time in a day to get everything in. It makes her a little insecure. She feels like she's failed because she can't write fast enough. And she gets even more frustrated when she hits a brick wall with a writing project. That's when she heads for the chocolate.

Anyway, how's the snow? I live in Florida so we get cold and sunshine. I couldn't imagine being snowed in without my sunshine ... Or even snacks.

I'm so thankful I can bask in the warmth of the sun on a cold day.

Hope you nice people get to do the same soon.

ISWG: Silly Santa says: Don't Lose Your Squeakers

Hello, folks! I'm still hanging around and with good reason.

We made it from a ledge to the chandelier. But Penelope lost her grip and her squeaker.

She obviously gave up even though, we her friends, were there for her. Well, except maybe Penquin Phil. He's about as an encouraging as a bed of nails.

Thankfully, all of you writers have Alex J. Cavanaugh who created the Insecure Writer's Group.

I hope all of you do what you can to help your fellow writers not to lose their squeakers.

Never give up. Especially your squeakers!

Silly Santa signing out!

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG: When Things Go Awry

Good morning, nice people!
SPAL: I'm still here. Having my ups and downs. My legs wobble now when I stand and walk. But when I hear the word treat, I can't help but do my happy-foodie-dance.

HB: Yup. He's even making out outside when his pooper goes crazy.
SPAL: Well, I've learned a lot since I've been around Mummsy. Never give up when things go awry.

HB: Yeah. A lot of things have done that over the last several months. Her Killer Stilettos MS has more than writing issues with it. So she's working on other manuscripts.

SPAL: And last week, her computer screen was black for three days until Daddy-o fixed it.

HB: Yeah. Then Friday, she was home sick with a sinus and ear infection.

SPAL: And a week before that, she had a  stye in her eye for three weeks. But Mummsy stayed determined to work on her writing even if it was at 10 and 15 minute intervals.

HB: Yeah. She's even got family issues again that have her driving back and forth     two counties away.
SPAL: I'm like my Mummsy. I keep going and doing no matter what has gone amuck.

We hope everyone gets lots of belly rubs and licks today! And we'll see you, nice people next month.

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: Hanging in There

Hello, nice people!

No. I'm not dead. Not yet anyway. I'm enjoying Mummsy's laundry. She went away for a few days.

She's been helping my sister, Summy-sum-a-lum. She had a little Tortino.

So I'm resting and pacing myself. I've been taking my time on many things. Eventually, I'll get everything completed. I'm done worrying about anything. It's just not worth it.

This post was written for Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Group.

Hopefully, Hair Ball will have a few interviews done soon.

Lots of licks and belly rubs!

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG

Hello, nice people. Today, I thought I would do the post. A lot of you already know that my days are numbered.

Saturday, Mummsy rushed me to the vets. I was gasping to breathe. We found out I have enlarged heart and fluid in my lungs. Plus, colitis.

Right now, Mummsy is giving me a heart and lung medication to keep me comfortable.

So I want to say, never give up. Take time to smell everything and eat treats. Even when you're in pain stay happy. Give and receive lots of belly rubs and lovey-loves. Keep a sense of humor. Accidents and diapers are a part of life. And remember God is always with you no matter what stage of life you're in.

This post was written on behalf of Alex J. Cavanaugh's, Insecure Writer's Group.

Lots of licks and belly rubs,
Sir Poops

PS Mummsy will do her best to read blogs today.

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: Insecure Writer's Group

SPAL: ***Yawns*** Hello, nice people! Don't mind me. I'm enjoying the sun this morning. It's so nice and warm.

HB: You're just getting old, pansy boy.

SPAL: No. I'm not. I'm just a little more tired than normal.

HB: Mummsy says you sound like you've been smoking cigarettes.

SPAL: I'm smarter than that, stupid. Anyway, Mummsy's been concerned about so many things. Daddy-o and her writing.

HB: Yeah. Stuff keeps happening.

SPAL: I know. She's worried about making her self-imposed deadline for Killer Stilettos. Last year, she had it set for December 2013 and it didn't happen.

HB: She needs to eat more chocolate and calm down.

SPAL: I think she needs to lay down and hang out in the sun.

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: Malfunction Junction

Hello, nice people!

Sir Poops here. Hair Ball and I had prepared to interview Bish's spider for today. But our house has been crazy since last week. So we're more than exhausted right now.

Yup! Our Daddy-o has been having malfunctions. Last week, he had a problem with something called a kidney. This week, it's his sugar. Whatever that is.

I guess that's why Mummsy says God should've sent us all into the world with a box of parts and a warranty.  Then we could fix him for free. She says the hospital wanted more than what she makes in year for Daddy-o's care.

Anyway, we'll see you all next week for Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Group.

Lots of licks and belly rubs!

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG-Staying Focused

HB & SPAL: Good morning, nice people!

HB: As you can see I'm wide awake and my brother, once again, is half asleep.

Anyway, I got Mummsy's shoes ready for our morning walk.

Come on, pansy! Get up! We have adventures to go on.

SPAL: ***yawns***

HB: Get focused!

HB: We have a task to do our business this morning. Wake up! You don't want to whiz on a snake or something!

SPAL: ***scratches his head*** and sniffs around***.

HB: Good. Stay on task. Next, we'll eat our breakfast.

SPAL: ***follows HB*** I do this every morning.

HB: Yeah. But you've been lazy about it lately. It's pretty shabby when you whiz on your own leg.

HB: Hey! That's my bowl! Pay attention!

SPAL: Whatever. I'm going back to bed.

HB: See, nice people. This is not how you want to be. You'll never get your stuff done and it wouldn't look right if you walked around with a yellow leg like my brother does half the time. So stay focused on your tasks.

You can do it! Now say cheeeeeeze for the camera!

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: In Recovery

Hi, Nice People! Me and Sir Poops are in recovery with our Mummsy. When she went in for her colonoscopy and endoscopy this week, they did a biopsy on some spots in her stomach. She's little sore and uncomfortable right now.

And as you can see, my pansy-brother is taking another nap.

Looks like I'll be the only helper today.

See everyone next week for the Insecure Writer's Group.

Lot's of licks and belly rubs!

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG

SPAL: Hello, nice people. It's another first Wednesday of the month which means its time for Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writers Group. ***yawns*** And the second day for many in the Arlee Bird's A to Z April Challenge. ***yawns again*** I need a nap. Where's Hair Ball?
HB: I'm here!
SPAL: Good. Do you have any words of encouragement for the nice people today? A lot of them are doing that crazy blog challenge. ***yawns***

HB: Of course I do. Make sure you have plenty of water, kibble, and treats. It will help get you through it when you lose your energy.
HB: Exercise when you can't think what to say in the comment boxes and what kind of post you're going to come up with. They say it clears the mind.

HB: Make sure you take a whiz break, too. The peep's in your house may get upset if you make a stinky, wet mess on their floor or in the chair. No one should ever be that tied to their computer.
HB: I hope these tips help get you through. And too, I want to award Gary and Penny an award. Check out their blog here along with Penny's Alphabark challenge

Gary and Penny, come grab your award. I love you, Penny!

SPAL: ***rolls his eyes***

HB: Gary and Penny are the coolest. Sir Poops and I love this fun blog. We especially love it when Penny writes her mind. She's a really hot Jack Russel. Mmmm...mmmm...I'd like to...

SPAL: This is a G-rated blog.

HB: What? All I want to do is hug her leg.

SPAL: ***face palm***

HB: In fact, I want to hug everyone's leg. Hugs are good.

SPAL: I apologize for my brother's stupid comment today. Hope everyone makes it through all their challenges today and this month.

Lots of licks!

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG-Sir Poops Says a Creative Mind Needs Sleep

Hello, Nice People!

It's just me today. Yeah. I'm in the bed where it smells like my Mummsy and Daddy-o. My stupid brother is roaming the house with his Pumpkin and Ball. He seems to be grumbling about  no one being here to play with him. Our parents are away at work.

I try to occupy my time with naps while they're away. Sleep is good for you. Especially for writers and artists, like myself.

Did you know that German scientists did a study? 'Its the first hard evidence supporting the common sense notion that creativity and problem solving appear to be directly linked to adequate sleep'. You can read the entire article here, by William McCall, at the Associated Press.

Sleep also helps to keep our immune systems healthy. While in dreamland, our bodies make something called Cytokines. When we're sick it helps us fight infections. You can find the article HERE from the Mayo Clinic .

Want to lose weight? Sleep. Want to keep the blues away? Sleep. Having writer's block? Sleep. I'm sure I could scour the internet for this information. ***yawns*** But I'm getting tried again.

I hope this encouraged all my writer buddies to take a nap if you need to. There are plenty of benefits from getting enough of them. So don't feel guilty. I sure don't. In fact, a nap sounds really good right about now.

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG: When the Tough Get Going

Good morning, nice people. This morning I've decided to just read. So I pulled my bed and blanket up onto the bookshelf where there are lots of books. We have a ton. Daddy-o loves Tom Clancey novels. Mummsy reads all kinds of books.

Anyway, watching Mummsy write and write and write gets to me sometimes. Especially the days when she just stares at her computer screen for hours and then she does a frustrated face palm.

On days like that she ends up reading, beta reading, or critiquing another's work. It keeps her in the groove.

The writer's life can be tough. So when the tough get going, pull up your bed and grab your blanket along with a good book.
This was written on behalf of all our writerly friends who are a part of Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Group. We post the first Wednesday of every month to offer encouragement or to cry about our insecurities.

You can also find this group on Facebook.

Lots of licks,
Sir Poops

Sir Poops and Hair Ball: ISWG: Editing Out the Poop!

SPAL: Hello, nice people. I'm going to hang out in my house today. It's a freezing 36 degrees where I live in Florida.
HB: Yeah. It is. And he's staying in his box because he wrote his own story on the bathroom floor yesterday and then did some of his own editing.
HB: Pansy the poop eater! Anyway, he left just enough of his story behind so Mummsy understood what he did.
SPAL: Maybe there's a lesson here for everyone to learn. Don't edit so much that no one gets the point of your story. Leave something behind.
HB: What does eating poop and editing have anything to do with each other? Although, Mummsy does say she sometimes writes poopy drafts and scenes.
SPAL: Well, when you're editing your draft just get rid of the poop. Not the good stuff. Just the poop that doesn't make your story flow.
HB: This is starting to sound like constipation to me. Eating some grass should fix that.
SPAL: Anyway, we hope you have a great day editing the poop out if your draft.
And we want to thank Alex J. Cavanaugh for The Insecure Writer's Group. It's a great place to be encouraged if you're depressed.GO HERE TO CHECK THIS OUT!
Also, before we go, we wanted you to head over to E.J. Wesley's. He's on a book tour with his fifth novella. GO HERE

HB: Mummsy will be around reading others' blogs today off and on.

Lots of Licks!
