My Trip to NYC: Wicked the Musical

Immediately, I give this show Shelly’s twenty stars. OMG. I loved it. If you’re in NYC, it’s a must to see. It will appeal to any cynical mind. I know, because I’ve got one.

The moral of the story goes, trust no one in authority. Those higher than ourselves can twist whatever around about any individual for the public to believe, even about innocent witches.

So, beware of politicians and their creepy promises. Beware of CNN, Fox News, The Morning, and Today Show. Beware of Jiffy Peanut Butter commercials and Oscar Meyer Bologna, too. Beware of all propaganda.

This last clip brings tears to my eyes. Loved it!

Everyone have a happy day blogging, reading, and writing!

Shelly

PS Sir Poops-A-Lot will be back Saturday. He’s writing a book review. I’m so proud of him.

PSS Remember to save a local library today!

  1. Sounds so good Shelly! I've seen the ads on tv for this production..I guess it's coming to Vancouver...It's true, people in authority can and do twist the truth to suit whatever it is they're selling...great clips!

  2. I take it you didn't stop in to see Spider-Man the musical, which seems to be bleeding money and killing off an average of three cast members a day?

  3. @Eve @ desertrocks: I'm flying. Sometimes w/o the wings though.

@Eve: Oh-oh. Have you had a bad hair experience?

@Wills: I was too afraid of getting whiplash or something.

  5. I've read the book, but haven't seen the musical; I'll have to get around to it! :)

  6. Same as Eagle. Liked the book a LOT, and I love musicals more than the average straight dude is usually willing to admit. Need to see this one.

  8. So, would this include management...? Because if so, I've got a shitload of people that I don't trust in authority...

    Spiderman the musical...LOL

SPAL is writing a review...? Wow!

  10. @Beth: This includes anyone in any type of authority. I've got the same issues where I work. They stab you with a dagger while they sugar coat it and smile at you.

@Jolene: If you ever have the opportunity to see it. Go. I bought the soundtrack to it.

  11. @Beth: Sir Poops-A-Lot is an amazing dog. OOPS! He really believes DOG is a bad word. Let me clarify, he's an amazing fur-person.

  12. I love wicked! I got to watch it when it was in LA and I absolutely adored Glinda. :D Defying Gravity became my favorite song when Glee redid it in one of their episodes ,too. :)

  14. I really think it's my favorite musical. I've seen it twice now, and it just gets better with each viewing/listen. Would love to see it on Broadway!

  16. The show looks fabulous !
And you're so right - don't trust anyone in authority , even if they smile nicely at you with the front teeth ... (cos they're probably grinding with the back teeth ...LOL !)
I had a bad encounter with my superiors recently (won't go into it now ...) My conclusion : do my job , to the best of my ability ~ (i've always done so , anyway ) and stay out of everyones way ... no more and no less !!

  17. That's fun you got to see it. I heard it was wonderful. I didn't realize it had a conspiracy-theory twist. :)

  18. @MISH: Yup. Trust no one.

@Tonja: I love musicals. Especially in NYC.

  19. I saw Wicked last year, and it became an instant favorite. Even my husband loved it, and I believe he really just goes to musicals with me to make me happy and spend time with me, not because he actually likes them (LOL).

  20. @Shannon: That's why I go by myself.
